Davidson County Community College and the Davidson County Rescue Squad are co-sponsoring Rescue 3 International’s “Swiftwater Rescue Awareness Training Seminar” taught by Instructor/Trainer Tim Rogers.  This one-day course meets the NFPA 1670 Standard requirements for water at the awareness level and is designed for any responder who, in the course of their duties, may be the first on-scene at a water incident.

This classroom seminar introduces personnel to the problems of surface swiftwater rescue, as well as the procedures to follow in flash flood, large-scale disaster, and seasonal flooding situations.  Awareness level training provides students with theoretical knowledge and does not provide students with the skills to perform rescues of any type.  No equipment is required for this class.

Registration deadline for this seminar is Thursday, March 31st.  To register call:

DCCC Registration at (336) 249-8186.  Course number to register for is 0501458.

You have two options in registering for this class:

1.  You may register to receive the Awareness Level Certification from Rescue 3 International.  If you choose to receive this certification, you will need to pay a $35.00 Certification Fee that includes a Rescue 3 Training Manual, Certificate, and Identification Card.  Make checks payable to “Tim Rogers, R3-NC” and bring them with you the morning of class.  Please allow 6-8 weeks after the class for your I.D. Cards and Certificates to be mailed to your agency.

2.  You may register for the seminar and choose not to receive certification.  If you choose this option you will be able to attend the seminar but will not receive a manual, I.D. Card, or Certificate.  There is no Certification Fee if you choose this option.
