The Rescue Challenge is a two person timed event.  The scenario for this year’s challenge involved multiple rescue skills including:  rigging of multiple anchor points with a picket system, moving the Rescue Randy thru a 30 inch pipe, 2 person carry with a Rescue Randy, lashing the Rescue Randy into the basket, and finally moving the loaded basket with a 3:1 MA system.    

There were 17 teams in the event representing   Winston-Salem Rescue, Troutman Fire & Rescue, Claremont Rescue, Gastonia Fire Department, Alexander Rescue, Hickory Rescue, Sherrill’s Ford Rescue, and Gates County Rescue Squad.

First Place:  Billy Winn/Mike Tinkam (Gates CountyRescue)

Second Place:  Ronnie Mayberry/Eric Stroud (WSRS)

Third Place:  Anne Slayton/Sandy Mayberry (WSRS)
