The Rescue Competition is a timed event where a 6 person team is given a problem to complete that is judged based on current Rescue Technician training standards.

This years problem involved an accident where a victim was jumping off the battery of a Suburban.  The victim was knocked down a steep embankment only to be pinned under the vehicle.  The teams had to set up a picket anchor system, lower a basket and crew to the victim, build a box crib and use an airbag to raise the vehicle, then raise the victim and equipment back up the embankment.

Squads represented in the competition were Claremont Rescue Squad, Sherrills Ford Fire & Rescue, Alexander Rescue Squad, Hickory Rescue Squad, Gates County Rescue Squad and Winston-Salem Rescue Squad.
