The Rescue Challenge is a two person timed event.  The scenario for this years challenge involved multiple rescue skills including:  rigging of multiple anchor points with a picket system, tying a rescue knot onto a Rescue Randy, moving the Rescue Randy thru a 24 inch pipe, 2 person carry with a Rescue Randy, lashing the Rescue Randy into the basket, and finally moving the loaded basket 50 feet with a 3:1 MA system.    

There were 9 teams in the event representing   Winston-Salem Rescue Squad, Troutman Fire & Rescue, Claremont Rescue, and Gates County Rescue Squad.

This year marked the first time an all female team has ever competed in this event.  Anne Slayton and Sandy Mayberry made up this team and placed third in the competition.
